About Us
TutorCo is a young and innovative education company that is leveraging the power of the internet to deliver educational services directly to student’s homes. TutorCo provides Live 1-on-1 Math Tutoring for students of grades K through 12th to help them in their homework, exam preparation and standardized tests preparation including SAT, ACT and GMAT.
TutorCo was started by a group of professionals with bachelors and master’s degrees from top schools in India and USA. Their intensive academic experience has given the company, keen appreciation and insights into the education and learning processes, both in India and USA.
Ashwini Sharma, Co-Founder & CEO
Ashwini Sharma is the CEO and co-founder of TutorCo, responsible for all aspects of strategy and day-to-day operations. Prior to starting TutorCo, he was Vice President of Business Development with E2open Inc. – a leading provider of On-Demand Visibility and Control Software. Before E2open, he was Vice President (Corporate Development) at GetSilicon Inc. where he was instrumental in its eventual acquisition by E2open. Before E2open, Ashwini held sales and technical roles with i2 Technologies and Citicorp. Ashwini has a M.S. degree from Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA and a B.Tech degree from Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India.
Harpreet Dhawan, Co-Founder & President
Harpreet Dhawan is a co-founder and President of TutorCo, responsible for sales, business development and customer advocacy in North America. Harpreet has held several positions in technology implementation and management at Telex Communications. Harpreet has a Masters Degree in Computer Applications from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology in India.
Sumit Dhawan, Co-Founder
Sumit Dhawan is a co-founder of TutorCo, responsible for go-to-market strategy and product strategy. Sumit is currently the Director of Corporate Development at General Mills Inc. - a Fortune 500 corporation. He has previously held multiple roles in Marketing, Finance and Corporate Development with General Mills. Sumit has a MBA degree from Kelly School of Business at Indiana University and a B.Tech degree from Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India.
John Uribe, Advisor
John advises TutorCo on issues related to strategic business development and finance. John is currently the VP of Business Development for GE. Prior to GE, John has held variety of positions at General Mills, his most recent one being Sr. Director of Mergers and Acquisitions. John has a MBA degree from Kelly School of Business at Indiana University and a BA degree in accounting from Indiana University.
